The clown fish is the most popular marine fish bar none. It was made even more famous by the hit animated flick, Finding Nemo. I've compiled a bunch of photographs of the three most popular clown fishes species for your viewing pleasure.
Lets start with Amphiprion Ocellaris (False percula clownfish) and Amphiprion Percula (True percula clownfish). Both of them look almost exactly the same, with the true percula having thicker black margins around their while stripes. Physically they only differ in one respect, the true percula has 10 doral spines while the ocellaris has 11.
Price wise, the true percula commands a higher price. Both species are heavily collected in the wild as they are a popular fish that sell easily. Like all clownfish, they are a hardy fish that adapts well to aquarium life. Along with the damselfish, the ocellaris is normally touted as a great fish for beginners. I

Percula Clownfish
Maroon Clownfish
Maroon Clownfish
Premnas biaculeatus, the Maroon Clownfish. Another popular clownfish with hobbyists that sells well on the market.
It is the biggest clownfish in the family, topping out at a whopping 7 inches! It can hold its own against larger, aggressive tank mates with ease. Of course, it also helps that it is probably the most aggressive clown fish on the market as well. Large specimens can be quite a terror.
Maroon clowns have long lives and are very hardy making them great additions to any marine aquariums with enough space for them.

Tomato Clownfish
Tomato Clownfish
Amphiprion Frenatus, the Tomato Clownfish. Probably the third most popular clownfish after the true/false percula's and the maroon clownfish. It is a large, round fish with tomato red coloration and a singe white stripe running down its cheek.
It grow to about 5 inches, is very hardy like the rest of its kin and easily adapts to captive life. Is slightly aggressive and will protect its territory with vigor. Not as aggressive as a maroon clownfish.
